Plants

Hardy Kiwi plants are in 2.5" or 3.5-inch pots and 4-6 inches tall. They will be dormant from approximately November to March.  They have leaves from approximately March to November.

Hardy kiwis have smooth skin (no hair) and are smaller, sweeter versions of the typical grocery store kiwi. The entire fruit can be eaten and does not need to be peeled.

Plants will be getting ready for winter in October/November (their leaves change from green to yellow) and will be dormant from November/December to March/April.

Kiwis should be planted on a solid arbor or strong fence with guide wires to train the vines.

Plants need full sun (with some partial shade, the vines will also fruit). Space plants 12'-15' (feet) apart. Plants bloom in the spring; fruit is ripe in the fall. Fruit is sweet when it starts to soften. When the first fruits soften, they can be picked and stored in the refrigerator for several months.

Fruit can be made into jams/jellies, juices, or frozen (entire fruit with peels) for smoothies.

Vines grow very fast and are cold-hardy to -20 degrees F. At maturity, they will produce a very large amount of fruit.

Hardy Kiwi vines are pest and disease-free.  Very easy to grow organically.

Anna is the female variety, and Meader is the male variety.

Female plants set fruit. A male plant is needed to pollinate a female plant, and one male plant can pollinate up to six female plants.

We can only ship to California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Washington, Oregon, and Mississippi while dormant and bare-root (through March).
