Sweet, Bite-Sized Kiwis You Eat Whole — No Peeling Needed

Hardy Kiwi (Actinidia arguta) produces smooth-skinned, grape-sized fruit that's sweeter than grocery store kiwis — and you eat them skin and all. Vines are cold-hardy to -20°F, vigorous, and virtually pest- and disease-free, making them one of the easiest fruits to grow organically. Once established, a single pair of vines can produce for decades.

Growing Conditions

  • Light: Full sun (tolerates partial shade; will still fruit)
  • Hardiness: Cold-hardy to -20°F (zones 3–8)
  • Spacing: 12–15 feet apart
  • Bloom: Spring
  • Fruit ripens: Fall
  • Support: Requires a sturdy arbor, fence, or trellis with guide wires

Varieties

  • Anna — Female variety; sets fruit. Requires a male pollinator.
  • Meader — Male variety; does not fruit but pollinates up to 6 female plants.

One male plant is sufficient to pollinate up to six female plants.

What You'll Receive

Well-rooted plants shipped in 2.5" or 3.5" pots, 1–6" tall. Plants are dormant approximately November–April and leafed out April–November. In fall, leaves will transition from green to yellow/brown as plants prepare for winter — this is normal. Ripe fruit softens in fall and can be refrigerated for several months after picking.

Shipping Restrictions

Cannot ship to California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Washington, Oregon, or Mississippi — except while dormant and bare root (late November to March). Cannot ship to locations below 40°F or above 85°F. If your area is near the upper range, please be available to receive and unpack promptly upon delivery.

Our Guarantee

Every plant is guaranteed to arrive healthy. Message us with a photo if anything looks off upon delivery — all plants are insured for transit issues. Once a healthy plant is in your hands, we're happy to answer care questions, though we cannot be responsible for post-delivery care.
