Hardy Kiwi Plants are well rooted in 2.5" or 3.5-inch pots and 1-6 inches tall. They will be dormant from approximately November to April and have leaves from approximately April to November. In October/November, the plants will be preparing for winter (their leaves will change from green to yellow/brown).

Hardy kiwis have smooth skin (no hair) and are smaller, sweeter versions of the typical grocery store kiwi. The entire fruit can be eaten and does not need to be peeled.

Kiwis should be planted on a sturdy arbor or fence, with guide wires to train the vines.

Plants need full sun (with some partial shade, the vines will also fruit). Space plants 12'-15' (feet) apart. Plants bloom in the spring; fruit is ripe in the fall. Fruit is sweet when it starts to soften. When the first fruits soften, they can be picked and stored in the refrigerator for several months.

Vines grow very fast and are cold-hardy to -20 degrees F. At maturity, they will produce a very large amount of fruit.

Hardy Kiwi vines are pest and disease-free.  Very easy to grow organically.

Anna is the female variety, and Meader is the male variety. Female plants set fruit. A male plant is needed to pollinate female plants.  One male plant can pollinate up to six female plants.

We can only ship to California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Washington, Oregon, and Mississippi while dormant and bare root (late November to March).

Cannot ship to locations below 40°F or above 85°F (if your temperatures are at the upper range, be on site so the package can be brought in and unpacked soon after delivery).

Plants will be delivered in the listed/selected pot sizes. The mature plants shown in the pictures are significantly larger than the 2.5"-3.5" pots in which we ship plants. Some plants will flower in these pots, but most do not. Plants flower when they naturally flower for the period they naturally flower. Most flowers do not bloom year-round.

Plants are guaranteed to be healthy upon delivery. If you have a question or issue with the plant upon delivery, please message us and include a photo so we can address it. Things can happen during shipments that no one can control, but we insure all plants for these issues. After a healthy plant is delivered, we are happy to answer questions, but we cannot be held responsible for the care a plant receives.
