Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia Humifusa) is a surprising East Coast native plant. It has pretty flowers that attract pollinators. It is native to much of Eastern North America.
Plants are happy in full sun to somewhat less than full sun. They can take dry conditions (i.e., they are a cactus) but can also take normal moisture conditions. They are deer/Rabbit Resistant. In the winter, plants will stay evergreen but droop; come spring, they will look perky again. Flowers form in early summer and will be yellow with pretty orange centers.
Plants grow to about 18" tall and will slowly sprawl.
Plants grow in zones 4-9.
These plants are rooted in pots either 2.5" or 3.25" and will be a couple inches high. Greenhouse grown so they will never be dormant.
It cannot ship to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Washington, Oregon, and Mississippi.
