Tropical Drama — Even in Cold Climates
Musa basjoo, the Hardy Banana, is the most cold-tolerant banana in the world — surviving down to zone 4 with proper mulching. Its enormous paddle-shaped leaves (up to 6 feet long) create instant tropical impact in any garden. A fast-growing herbaceous perennial, it can reach 6–15 feet tall in a single season, making it one of the most dramatic statement plants available for temperate gardens.
Note: Musa basjoo will not produce edible bananas in cold climates. It is grown purely for its spectacular ornamental foliage.
