30,000 Bird & Butterfly Wildflower Mix Seeds

Seed type: Mixed wildflower species

Bulk Mixed Wildflower Seed Blend

This bulk seed mixture contains approximately 30,000 open-pollinated wildflower seeds for meadow-style plantings, sunny borders, and wildlife gardens. The mixture contains a combination of annual and perennial flowering species that can provide flowers across different parts of the growing season.

Examples in the Mix

The blend includes species and varieties: Goldenrod 20%, New England Aster (20%), Common Milkweed (20%), Lunaria (10%), Evening Primrose (10%), Zinnia (10%), and Cleome (10%).  Because this is a mixed-species product, growth habit, germination timing, height, and bloom period vary among the included seeds.

How to Sow

• Prepare a relatively weed-free seedbed and loosen the soil surface.
• Sow according to the included species and local conditions; some seeds benefit from fall sowing or winter cold, while warm-season annuals are best sown after frost. Because this blend contains species with different requirements, a single sowing date will not optimize every species.
• Press or lightly rake seeds into the soil surface rather than burying the mixture deeply.
• Keep the seedbed evenly moist while seedlings establish.

Seed collection year: The previous year of sale.
