Eastern Red Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis) produces distinctive red-and-yellow nodding flowers in spring. Hummingbirds may visit the tubular blooms for nectar, and the flowers can also be visited by native bees and other pollinators.

This native perennial occurs naturally in rocky woods, slopes, and other well-drained sites. It can tolerate part shade and relatively dry conditions once established and may self-seed where growing conditions are suitable.
