Vinca Minor (Periwinkle) Bare-Root Plants – Evergreen Ground Cover, Zones 4–8
The Hardest-Working Ground Cover You'll Ever Plant
Vinca minor (lesser periwinkle) is a low-growing, evergreen spreader that thrives where other plants struggle — slopes, shady spots, and dry patches. It blankets the ground quickly, suppresses weeds, and holds soil on hillsides to prevent erosion. Cheerful purple blooms appear in spring and again in fall.
Growing Conditions
- Light: Part sun to part shade
- Hardiness zones: 4–8
- Mature height: ~6 inches
- Spread: Spreads readily to fill in gaps
- Bloom time: Mid-spring & fall
- Deer, rabbit & groundhog resistant
- Drought tolerant once established
What You'll Receive
Plants ship as bare-root (no soil or pot — see photos). Choose from 10, 20, or 50 plants. Simply plant and water with a sprinkler for a few days to get them established — these are tough, forgiving plants.
Shipping Notes
Safe to ship when temperatures at your location are between 35°F and 85°F. The mature plants shown in our photos are significantly larger than what ships — that's your plant's future once established.
Our Guarantee
Every plant is guaranteed to arrive healthy. If something looks off upon delivery, message us with a photo — all plants are insured for transit issues. Once a healthy plant is in your hands, we're happy to answer care questions, though we can't be responsible for post-delivery care.
