Wild Blue Columbine (Aquilegia caerulea) is the state flower of Colorado. Its distinctive blue-and-white spurred blooms appear in mid-to-late spring and may be visited by hummingbirds, bumblebees, and long-tongued native bees. The nodding flowers can also be used in spring cut-flower arrangements.

Native to Rocky Mountain meadows and woodland edges, this columbine grows well in part sun to part shade and can self-seed where conditions are suitable.
