Showy Pink Evening Primrose (Oenothera speciosa) is a vigorous, low-growing perennial that spreads by underground runners to form a cheerful carpet of soft pink blooms in late spring and early summer. Each silky, cup-shaped flower has delicate pink veining and a bright yellow center — beautiful en masse along sunny borders, slopes, and meadow edges.

Despite its delicate appearance, this primrose is tough — drought tolerant once established and happy in poor, well-drained soils. Wildlife tend not to browse. It spreads readily, making it an excellent low-maintenance ground cover for sunny spots where you want season-long color with minimal care.
